Events & Fundraisers
The foundation's funding is derived from own funds, sponsorships, donations, and fundraisers. Throughout the year we hold different kinds of events to raise funds. A few these are: the Harley-Davidson Braggin' Rights, Hot Cars & Hot Cakes, our Annual Wine & Cheese night, special cocktail evenings, themed car events, car drives, and naturally, drag race test sessions.

The foundation also works tirelessly for the benefit of motorsports, but in particular that of drag racing. Furthermore, it also supports the local chapters of Prinses Wilhelmina Fonds and Ronald Mc Donald House.

DRAP
As drag racing is one of the most expensive sports in Curaçao, the Danny de Kort Motorsports foundation, in its effort to help the sport, proudly introduces the Drag Race Advertising Program. The 2015 DRAP allows drag racers (Doorslammers) to complement their winnings for first and runner up in up to 5 specific classes in up to 4 FAC sanctioned drag races. A Ronde Klip Shootout may qualify for the DRAP. Dragsters, motorcycles, and street going cars are not illegible.
The DRAP is a derivative of the well-known contingency program. In the latter a manufacturer pays a winning racer a certain amount of money (or gift) that is contingent on the racer having purchased and used their product to win with. our program pays the participating racer who wins or is runner up, if he or she has the decal of the advertiser as per the rules placed on his/her car. Having 100% of the participating DRAP advertiser's decals on a car ensures that the maximum amount is won, and no money is left on the table. Not many people would give up a big chunk of their paycheck, but that's exactly what some drag racers will do when they don't take full advantage of the DRAP.
The entire program will be administered by us, meaning that we make the decals available to the participants, after the races we will calculate the amount of price money that a person is eligible for, and will make this available to them as soon as possible. Hereafter we will ask the corresponding companies for reimbursement. In other words, you get your cheque directly from us, and we in turn will get the same amount back from the advertisers when we are reimbursed.
The DRAP is 100% transparent in that you know in advance what your winnings may be, provided you follow the rules. Also, it is offered free of charge to racers. the only thing we ask in return is that you abide by the rules and you support DRAP's participating companies as much as you can!
Participants responsibilities:
The participant that has won or finished in the runner up's spot in one of the five participating DRAP categories is responsible for having quality photographs (preferably by a professional photographer) taken immediately after the race, at least two high resolution (minimum 5 MB) pictures of the car, one of each side, and submitting these as soon as possible via email to DDKM. This is for us to confirm that the racer is in compliance of the DRAP Decal Rules. Not only should the participant follow the DRAP Decal Rules when placing the decals on the car, but he/she also keep himself/herself abreast of the latest regarding the DRAP.
Disqualifications:
The DDKM takes its task very seriously. "There is no gray area. You either have it or you don't." Participating racers are responsible for knowing the requirements. Ignorance is not an excuse. "Decal slapping" is another area that the DDKM has little regard for. Decals must be on both sides of the car for the whole drag race event, even if one looses in the first round. Though only the winner and runner-up are eligible for awards, that doesn't mean that you "slap on" the decals just before pulling into the water box in the final round. If you do, the DDKM has the right to refuse payment and/or award, based on the fact that you didn't hold up your end of the agreement.
THE PRIZES ORGANIZED BY THE DRAP ARE MEANT TO BE COMPLEMENTARY TO THOSE OF THE FAC SANCTIONED DRAG RACE ORGANIZER AND IN NO WAY ARE MEANT AS A SUBSTITUTE FOR THE LATTER.
Current payout figures:
Example of maximum winnings based on current number of DRAP company participants (as at February 19, 2015):

- 9 front fender (premium) decals at Ang. 75,00 for winner, equals Ang. 675.00
- 6 rear fender (basic) decals at Ang 45.00 for winner, equals Ang. 270.00
Total earnings per winner Ang. 945.00 (of which Ang. 75 in goods/services)

FulTrot
FulTrot is a blog uploaded from the island of Curaçao for motorsports enthusiasts around the world. The main topics are: racing, technology and safety. Of course, there is a healthy dose of funny pieces as well. Blogs are uploaded almost daily with the exception of weekends.
One my personal favourites is the introduction of new topics to our readers, be it in technology, safety or just rookies setting a track ablaze.
Regarding our lack of on the ground reporting, since we are a non-profit foundation with very limited financial resources [read: zero budget for travel] I match my personal vacations as much as possible with interesting locations or events (for example: The Goodwood Festival of Speed or the 24 Hours of Le Mans).
All in all, we are very pleased with the readership.
FulTrot's fan favourites are up to now:
1. Colin McRae, 2012
2. F1's monocoque explained, 2011
3. F1's Guardian Angel, 2011
4. CadZZilla, 2012
5. The Boxer Engine, 2011
Though we do not use professional writers, we do try to maintain a high level of integrity throughout, with accurate information and proper crediting of sources.

In August 2014, we celebrated our third year. The image below illustrates our accomplishments up to now. In the future we plan to focus both on increasing the structure of topics and the depth of reporting, while starting to explore the creation of some stream of advertising revenue.
